Apple is said to be working on four new smart home devices, according to a report from Bloomberg. The company is reportedly aiming to penetrate deeper into the smart home market, which is currently dominated by Amazon. Two of the devices are said to be part of the company’s HomePod lineup, with one being a sequel to the current-generation HomePod mini and the other being a revived version of the original HomePod. Both smart speakers are reportedly scheduled to launch in the first half of 2023. Apple is planning to release two new devices that will enter the market of smart displays- one for the kitchen and one for the living room. These devices will resemble an iPad and a combination of Apple TV, HomePod, and a camera. It is said that at least one of these products will be released by the end of 2023 or early 2024.

Apple has been less aggressive than Amazon and Google when it comes to bringing smart home devices to the market, but has decided to delve fully now. The original HomePod cost $349 and sales were lukewarm. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Apple is working on a new version of the HomePod. According to Kuo, the new HomePod could be released as early as the end of this year, but it’s more likely that it will come out in 2023.
